This is a 2-day event for middle school foster youth that will focus on an exploration through their prospective High Schools. Students will hear from a high school student panel, have virtual tours, learn about high school culture, academics, athletics/extracurricular activities, and the wide array of options and resources to help them gain success at the secondary level. In addition, we will go on a trip - Day 2 - virtually touring colleges and universities, learn about the requirements to gain college enrollment, pay tuition, learn about college support programs for foster youth, and establish what students need to be doing now, in middle school, to prepare for a successful college experience. Mr. Rodney Walker will be our event keynote as well there will be district and student incentives for attendance and participation.
