The Public Relations and Communications (PRCS) Services Unit leads communications efforts for the Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (ORCSS) and the programs and services of the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE).

Staff within PRCS include the Web Services Unit and Creative Services Unit, who have been recognized with multiple awards for excellence from the California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) and the Public Relation Society of America’s Inland Empire Chapter.

PRCS works with communications personnel and staff in the 23 K-12 school districts throughout Riverside County and with a variety of community, business, educational, media, higher education, and governmental organizations on education-related topics.

The focus of PRCS is also on creating, supporting, and expanding branding and communications activities for a wide variety of internal and external target audiences while positively influencing the value of public education in Riverside County.

Based in the RCOE main office in downtown Riverside, some of the regular activities of PRCS include:

Media Relations - From publicizing student achievements to responding to media requests, PRCS works with local, state, and national media outlets on a regular basis.

Web Development - The Web Services team provides front and back-end support to RCOE’s internal and external-facing websites, creates custom micro-sites, and provides digital marketing communications expertise to the organization.

Event Promotion/Marketing –PRCS provides marketing communications expertise from pre-event theme development to creative graphics designed by Creative Services and promotional messaging to support objectives and goals for event organizers.

Publications – Among its many outputs, PRCS produces the Annual Report to the Community and the internal Message of the Month e-newsletter. The team contributes graphics and text for a variety of internal and external projects, publications, and events.
