Since 1991, Assembly Bill 1200 and subsequent legislation have provided a uniform, statewide structure for county superintendents of schools to administer fiscal oversight of K-12 school districts. For over 30 years, county superintendents and school districts have used this legislation as a road map in working together locally to adhere to mandated fiscal procedures and accountability standards.

Our oversight team provides fiscal support to Riverside County’s 23 school districts and their authorized charters. The unit is responsible for fiscal oversight, which includes reviewing each district's adopted budget, interim reports, unaudited actuals, proposed collective bargaining agreements, independent financial audits, and non-voter approved debt. Our commitment to maintaining the fiscal solvency of our school districts ensures continued success for student outcomes throughout Riverside County.
