The Riverside County Office of Education is working closely with Riverside University Health System - Public Health and has created this website to provide staff and parents with the most current information on the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). Symptoms

If you have been in close contact with a person with or suspected to have the Novel Coronavirus 2019 and are experiencing the symptoms below, please seek medical attention immediately.

  • Runny nose
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath

Prevention

As with any virus, you can take a number of steps to protect your health and those around you. These everyday habits can help prevent the spread of viruses.

  • Clean our hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet).
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Monitor your health daily.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces daily.
  • CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings and when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
  • Get a flu shot.
