Preschool friendsThis state and federally funded program assists parents in Riverside County with finding licensed child care near their home, work, or child’s school. The online referral system and database contains program information for over 1,800 licensed centers and family child care homes.

Resource and Referral Services 

  • Provides over 15,000 child care referrals every year
    • Child care referrals are based on parent’s request of:
      • Location
      • Type of care
      • Hours needed
      • Ages of children
      • Special needs
  • Provides resource information to parents regarding finding quality child care and other community resources.
  • Provides resource information and training to child care providers on providing quality programs and how to market and run a successful child care business.
  • Facilitates the Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) to build capacity by assisting potential family care providers navigate the licensing process and provides support for existing family child care providers interested in expanding their license.
  • Facilitates Passport to Success and Passport to Quality, a professional development training program for potential child care providers, family child care home providers, child care center staff, or anyone working with children. Find more information on the Passport Professional Development Program web page.
  • Administers the Foster Bridge program in partnership with the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) to provide child care cost assistance for emergency foster placements. This program also provides resource parents assistance navigating finding a child care provider and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) training for families and early educators.
