Emily CulhanArt Connects Art, Director of Competition

Emily Culhan has been working as a Museum Educator for almost 20 years with her focus on the arts and youth. Emily received her BA in History from SUNY Geneseo and her MA in Museum Studies from Syracuse University. She believes in the transformative power of museums and art to change people’s lives. She began at the Palm Springs Art Museum working with teens from throughout the Coachella Valley to foster leadership skills and a lifelong love of art. She has also worked as an educator at College of the Desert, the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, Cabot’s Pueblo Museum, and as an artist-in-residence for Palm Springs Unified School District. She is currently the Program Director at Tools For Tomorrow, an after-school integrated arts program for elementary students. Emily continues to work as an independent educator with a focus on quality arts programming for all.
