District Fiscal Services provides accounting services to all LEAs in Riverside County, including the processing and auditing of vendor payments, reconciling funds with the county treasurer, apportioning revenues, distributing property taxes, warrant management, 1099 reporting, and communicating with the California Department of Education and California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Additionally, the accounting unit bridges the relationship between the County Treasurer, banking partners and LEAs. Approximately 315,000 vendor warrants are processed and paid each year. Each month 372 separate funds, totaling over $3.2 billion, are reconciled to the county treasurer where the funds are held on deposit.
